Howdy Allen!

I'm probably not coming to LGGC, although I did have a lot of fun last year. All of my fun money and most of my vacation time (sucks being the new guy) will be directed towards Gennie. I haven't attended since the last one in  Beertown in 2002.

I believe that GenCon 08 will go off without a hitch, and that the current financial situation will be resolved adequately.

afaik I'm still a 'guest celebrity auctioneer' (evenings only, pretty much). But not being the Lead Auctioneer any more (I useta spend the entire con in the auction room), I do have a bit more time available.

So I'll offer to run an AD&D 1e game for Acaeum stalwarts only.

Conditions: Email me (ExTSR@aol.com) to reserve a spot. (To be practical, if a bit brazenly arrogant: if I get 12+ responses I may split it into two separate games.)

Once this firms up, we'll talk about levels and what adventure and all that.

Lemme know.  :)

Game Update

Well, that was interesting. In about 12 hours we have 7 eager folks preregistered for the game:

Blackmoor
Badmike
dbartman
Grodog
Killjoy32
NetRodent
Prufrock

Kingofpain89 has PM'd me, but that's against the rules, dude. Please email me (ExTSR@aol.com) so I can communicate directly thereafter.

I will be selling all your email addresses to (a) some guys in Nigeria who want to give you money found in an abandoned bank account, and (b) assorted vendors of Vi@gr@ and other pharmaceuticals.  (Not really of course, but they all seem to email ME on a daily basis, so...)

To clarify a few things:

The game will last for one GenCon slot, i.e. 4 hours, and not during any evening (my only really busy times) nor first thing any morning (I'm not an early-morning type, at least not any more).

The game will most probably be held in someone's hotel room. I'm often stuck with the cheap rooms booked by the auction, usually more than 5 miles from the convention center, so I'll need a volunteer who grabbed one of the good rooms nearby...

We'll be setting up characters and handling background info well in advance, so we can start playing right away. I will email you all to ask your preferences in level of play and general setting (dungeon, outdoor, brothel, microchip factory...).

There is no fee for this game. If I have it together I *might* have extra copies of the scenario that I'll sell you for the cost of the photocopies.

As I noted earlier, I'll run two sessions if there are enough volunteers. Since we're at 7 now (8 if Kingofpain emails me), we're heading in that direction.

Frank

sounds most excellent!

frank - whetever it is that you decide to DM, i will have a copy of whatever it is that you come up with - just tell me how much and i will settle it with you at the time or in advance or whatever.

really look forward to it - will give the rest of us plenty of time to look for stuff in the hall, play tegel manor (very revised) and sit in the auction room buying everything worthwhile :)

but for me, it will once again make for a most excellent experience of GenCon.

hey guys one last note, yell loud at Brendon (Addermcone) - hes coming all the way from Australia and if i know him, he will want to be in on the game too.

Al

Understand about direct communication....just figured PM would be easier since most emails I send to people seem to go into their junk mail.  Email has been sent Frank.  :D

Frank,

If I may speak for the Gencon 2007 Gaming group (myself, Al, John, and Badmike), I have one small request:  no killer shrews.  The whole group has developped a complex regarding the vicious little creatures.  Badmike has a horrible case of Post-traumatic-stress syndrome and at the mere sight of one throws himself on his back trying to kill it.    8O

Mike - you've taken alot of ribbing about it (in good humour) but I just could not help myself.  Seriously, one of the best gaming sessions I've ever had.  (Thanks)

Martin

Just one more nasty reason for me to sneak away and go to GenCon... alas, such possibilities are nearly zero. And, I so wanted to see Frank again, but this time actually play rather than feel "awed." Damnit.

Hey Martin!

From what I understand the only reason that Mike throws himself on his back is deny "rear access" to nearby dwarves.

I'm going to reverse the whip this year...I'm bringing a cage full of rabid shrews and releasing them at the dealer room opening cermonies this year.

That'll teach you guys a lesson!
