Very true. Before purchasing, it's good practice to avoid the trifecta:

A) Deal is too good to be true
B) Seller has 0 feedback
C) Seller is from an area of the world that is notorious for counterfeit goods

This is the downside of the surge in prices for older material: the uninformed scrubs who see dollar signs and go crazy.

Given the variety and amount of items, I imagine it is a drop-shipper. "Brand new, unread, in gift-giving condition" smacks of roboselling.

The "very rare" Kara-Tur box legend is still going strong over here.... 125 â‚¬ lowest bid, or 175 â‚¬ instant-buy. I tell you, "offers" like that make collecting seriously un-fun. The guy has more to offer, at similar crazy prices.

Yikes! I know everything is going up recently, but these mystify me. Even if in shrink. Is there a new glut of collectors out there? What am I missing? It wasn't too long ago shrink would hit $30-40 or so. :scratch:

it looks like being not so bright has tripled as well. No way would I pay $200 USD for a shrink wrapped anything.

I'd wrap my johnson in shrink first

These sold for about $5-10 not too long ago.

There's more to it than money supply. Salaries have not gone up 5x-10x.

eBay listings

I was following those Auctions for the shrink UK series while they were going on. I about crapped myself on the results.

I'm a Collector and a Reseller. When prices go up - "Hey that's cool, my stuff might be worth more than it was". Sometimes I shake my head a little though but ultimately I think "That's great for the Seller, hope the Buyers are happy with what they get".

Its one way people can show their respect for something by what they are willing to pay for it.

That one had me doing some serious head scratching too. That Seller has a good rep though and has been selling a lot of Gaming stuff, so he's stayed on peoples radar. Two bidders that weren't backing down or a "Stranger Things" phenomenon I'd guess (Noobs). Might want to check to see if the seller leaves Feedback for the Buyer though, could be some Auction Fever and Non Paying Bidder. I have a friend that sells a lot of 80s Boomboxes on eBay and they go for crazy prices sometimes - he says that on over half of his "Solds", the Bidder doesn't pay.

Yeah, I've been seeing a lot of the name lately. He lives about 20 minutes from me, but no addy is given on his Facebook page, which probably means he's operating his camera collecting business from his home. At the prices he's getting, I doubt he'd be wanting to part with the gaming stuff in one swell foop anyhoo. More power to him there.
