I've already sent benjoshua a note but was asked to post here.

I'm giving up my print spot - paying for art/cartography and printing 3 books before NTX has tapped me out.  Timing is a killer in this case... a couple of weeks, and it'd be straightened out.  Oh well.

Anyone on the waiting list?  Well, one spot just opened up.  :-)

Sorry, I'm going to have to drop out this time.  :(

Timing just isn't good for buying anything.  Hopefully there'll be a #4 though... :)

Hopefully someone wants my spot...

Even though we have several more hours until the 21st is over, it is highly unlikely all three of the people who dropped out will change their mind.  You can submit your payment now.  Thanks for joining up!   :)

Also, the prints are all done, paid for and should be on their way to Badmike sometime tomorrow.  Everything is working out as planned.   :)

Finally, today is the deadline to pay, but there are only about six people left who haven't paid.   :)

Hi,

Just paid for both my prints. Money has been a little tight so I was waffling a lot. But seems too good to pass up for one or two prints.

My bad.  So far, it's not a problem since we have had three drop and only one add back in.  Hopefully we'll have all final payments come in by this Saturday.

If there is anyone wanting to add in or up their print total to two, please post your interest on this thread, and wait to hear from me before you pay.

Finally, the prints are on their way to Texas!   :)

Unhappy.

When I got into the first one, I wanted to collect these limited Acaeum prints, all with the same number. A Set.

Last year, the print I got had a lower number than my Otus.
I didn't notify you of the problem because my Otus was in storage.
I didn't think you'd change my number at random.

Now I'm assigned a THIRD number.
My original objective is impossible.
You keep changing the numbers.
And the price keeps rising sharply.

So unless I specify otherwise, count me OUT in the future.

Unhappy.

Maybe the person with the # you want would do a trade?
And however the #'s line up above when it's finalized, I'm sure someone will swap # places with you

wait a second, didn't aia ask for #69 specifically? and isn't NTRPG Con getting the last number specifically? so why would it be a problem if Frank wanted the same #29?
just asking

Fair question.  I didn't mind giving him that number because it's one of the last numbers, and it's a number that many Americans specifically don't want.

This is not a perfect system, but it was the system the committee devised and has kept throughout with few modifications.   8)

I cannot speak for anything else, but the prices rising is specifically the cost of the artist hired to do the work, no more or less. Caldwell (who we also contacted), for example, would have been twice the price of Elmore.  Elmore charges a lot more than Otus or Easley.   Unexpected issues come up so we do have to build in a small cushion, but any excess at the end is donated to the Acaeum.  The committee doesn't make a penny off this endeavor.  We are stuck between offering enough prints to make the art truly limited and collectible, with the fact that printing more lowers the price, so we have to go with a happy-medium and how many we think can get into the hands of unique collectors.

If Frank wants my number he can have it, or you can feel free to do any sort of 9 team trade with my number, I really don't care.

As for the expense, for me, at least, I knew Elmore would cost more, as he's just a bigger name in the art world. I would expect a Frazetta (were he still around) to cost even more. Brom would probably be even more. I've been a fan for years the way I wasn't with the previous artists, so I was in on this one.

That being said, how much would Brom be? :) Or maybe Baxa. I think a Dark Sun themed piece would be bad ass as hell!!

I went to high school with Lars Grant-West; although he didn't contribute any art to the early TSR work, he did freelance for WotC in the 3.x and 4th edition days.  He also paints illustrations for Magic.

He loves this genre and would likely be up for this type of thing.

Here's his website:  http://www.larsgrantwest.com/

He's worth talking to I think.

My top choice would have been Trampier, but now it is Wham. He could do Fantasy, Snits or Awful Green Things and I'd love to get a print of any of them.
