Yes, but that's an increasingly common skill among American editors. Since most everything on the web can be seen worldwide, & much of the English speaking world uses UK standards, a significant share of the verbiage produced here is written to those standards.

Actually, it is for an American scientific journal and they stated that text have to be written in American, not in English. For us it is sometimes very hard to see the differences... we know differences like analyse/analyze, emphasise/emphasize, but further differences are nearly impossible to spot for french speakers...
