True... but if a friend or acquaintance is going to the con, he can sell it for you.

Badge registration went live a bit ago.  A bit different than a couple of years ago.  Hopefully that won't translate into difficulty navigating the Passkey system for the hotel on Tuesday.  :bounce:

some people are not getting their passkey code in the confirmation email.  If you plan on booking through that system you might want to get your badges today and then double check your confirmation email.  This will give you plenty of time to email customer service and get one in case you are one of the unlucky ones.

Or you can just write the housing code down after paying for the badge like I did.  Just to be on the safe side.

Hi,

we thought about the Westin, but the reviews are, erm, somewhat mixed

Did anyone stay there last year?

Will probs just go for the Marriott DT again.

Cheers,
Malc

Good luck getting into the Marriott DT, that would be my first choice for sure.

We stayed there last year and didn't have any problems.  The rooms come equpped with a water trap (weighted sensor thingie) and no freebies (internet is 10/day for instance) but I don't think I can get my wife to consider another hotel.  The location sells it (not to mention the little soaps shaped like leaves).

I stayed in the Westin two years ago.  I had zero complaints about my stay.  Courteous staff, spacious room, and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.  Parking fees are ridiculous but you dont have to worry about that.  I read about quite a few people having problems at the Hyatt and Omni over on the Gen Con forums a couple of years ago.  The Hyatt was going through their renovation at the time so that may be a thing of the past.  Only read good things about the Westin.  Marriott always gets good reviews as well.

CEO of Gencon just checked out the new Convention Center.  Here is the article.  I think Gencon will be staying in Indy for the forseeable future.
