Of the options listed in the poll, I voted for Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth.
Certainly the options for expanding that module are there, and it even seems there was more that we did not get in the tournament module.

This was one of the few old-school modules that I actually ran as a DM and thought that the result was successful.  The other successful efforts were G1-3 and D1-3.

I might say that D3 should be expanded except that it was expanded in a module (Q1) that I thought was a swing and a miss.

(By the way:  The A series...bleh!  :x )

I would say that the G series modules need expanding simply because those were easily the funnest modules ever published.  Thing is, they were expanded (if not just re-visited) for 2nd Edition in a perfect bound booklet with...I think...Urnst in the title.

Obvious sequels to Hall of the Fire Giant King would be Castle of the Cloud Giant Prince and Mountain of the Storm King.  I would also have liked to see Caverns of the Stone Lord.

Lots o' stuff to kill there!   :D

Has to be Caverns, the designers led you that way anyway.
Personally I expanded it (all homebrew) a bunch.
My players, although it was many years ago, loved it.
They gave a DM an awesome framework; just had to flesh it out.
Well, just my take on it.

Funny you mention that, that's exactly what I incorporated into my campaign when the group went through I1.  The party went through the gate into modern day NY.  Although their time in NY was short it was rather amusing!  They terrified the locals for a bit and were very confused.

Ehhh... I was extremely disappointed with this adventure. I need to sit down and write a review of it in detail, but there is an incredible sameness to the map and monsters encountered. If there is a certain dull greyness to Stone Giants it is reflected in this adventure.

I immediately went to Lulu and bought the pdf.  At $1.25, this is a game bargain, dude - dull giants or not.  I bought it just to reward the author and to punish Lulu for charging $5+ to ship a module.

If nothing else, you can say the cover is good and the layout looks like the old days.

One thing about it that is definitely NOT old school....the drow chickie picture.

Drow went from tiny, strange, flat-chested denizens of the underworld to buxom things we want to have sex with.  I don't get it.

It all the fault of:  Larry Elmoooooooooooooore!  :x

I now feel I know too much about the inner workings of your mind Mark - I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not 8O

OK... I voted for B1.  Great module with tons of opportunity for a sequel!

BadMike did a superb job Dm'ing B1 as an online game two years ago and I would love to see him develop a followup adventure.

How about it, Mike? .... BM1 - Return to Quasqueton. ;)

((And make sure to put some buxom Drow in there like FormCritic suggests.))

Hello Mrs. Cleaver, Theodore.

Gee, Mrs. Cleaver ... That certainly is a lovely dress.

I find it fascinating that S4 is getting so much love. Currently tied with B1. What is also interesting is that both modules are pretty much dungeon crawls ... whell B1 for sure!

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

The 2E reworking to B2 is quite good.  Nooby adventurers visit the Keep 20 years on and have to tackle the Caves of Chaos still recovering the first monster cull.  Well thought out for late 2E stuff.

Would love to partake in a Acaeum member play-by-post... B1 or a sequel would be fantastic.

I'm protesting this thread until White Plume Mountain is added.

That WAS fun.

I have several different versions of B1....bandit hideout (the one Smarmy and Centerstage explored); orc/goblin/kobold stronghold, evil priest stronghold (lots of undead), evil mage stronghold (lots of magical critters), totally abandoned version (no intelligent monsters as the entire thing has been shut up solid for decades), "traditional" version, etc.  I've probably run this thing a couple dozen times.  I guess any of these could serve as a "return" to B1 adventure.

I LOVE this module!!!!

Didn't they do a couple White Plume Mtn sequels already? I know there's the "Return" one, but I seem to think there's a Dungeon article as a sequel.  I think there was a cool looking painting of that featured the two efreets (and Keraptis?)...I'll have to look that one up.

Otherwise, I vote for WG7 Castle Greyhawk

...JUST KIDDING!

(edit)
by the way, I voted for Inverness since no one was giving that any love yet. :)

Yeah, I was (mostly) messing around. I like to throw in S2 into every conversation.

Sequel-wise, you've got your Return To, your re-imagining in the Dungeon issue, and you've even got your 3E version, which was a free download from the WotC site. But there needs to be more!

That was pretty much the reason I skipped WPM.  But I am going to run another poll soon. Putting 50 mods in a single poll would be fruitless I think.

S4 has taken the lead. This really shocks me. You can barely give them away on ebay and it certainly is not one of the "hyped" mods.

On the other side, the lack of love for a "real" T2 is somewhat surprising. I know it technically has T1-4 (but I gotta say it has never been one of my favorites and the T1-4 sequel  left me completely disappointed). It always seemed to me that Hommlet was the real force behind T1 (the moathouse is only so-so).

Someone on Dragonsfoot did a G4 (something to the effect of Caverns of the Stone Lord).

I could never get a hard copy of it though (I don't care for PDF's...)
