I only know of a few threads that have been deleted in the time I have been on here and all of those were because of the fact that they had turned into all out flame wars.   :?

I remember the jonb thread kind of deluged into that for several pages, but nothing other than that I can remember.  That's not to say it didn't happen, I just don't remember it.  :)

And me, not really claiming to be a history aficionado, come to the esteemed sages of these parts to ask a simple question: Ever hear of any of these --

AI1 The First Apocalypse
AI2 Mystery of the Tunnels of Ancients Not Yet Ancients

AR1 The Quest
AR2 World of the Black-Haired Queen
AR3 Death of Heroes

BA1 City of Decadence
BA2 Gates of Time
BA3 Beyond the Realm of the Final God

CE1 Slaughter of Firbolgs
CE2 Fairy Mound
CE3 Otherworld

CAM1 Paradise
CAM2 Starving Gods (A Tale of the First Apocalypse)
CAM3 Doors of Rotting Corpses

CH1 Temple of Wuxia
CH2 Pyramid of the First Emperor
CH3 Mystery of the North Star

CTH1 Dreamlands
CTH2 Providence (Asylum)
CTH3 The Horror of Truth

E1 Mystery of the Old Kingdom
E2 Secret of the Coffin Texts
E3 Gone Forth by Day : The Book of Gates

F1 Crystal Lake
F2 Forest Graveyard
F3 The Last Runesinger

GRE1 Blood of Titans
GRE2 Labyrinth
GRE3 Finite Consciousness (Tragedy of Hubris)

IN1 Ruins of the Sky
IN2 Black Earth Mother
IN3 Avatar

J1 Cave of No Sunrise
J2 Eyes of the Ancients
J3 The Art of Suicide

ML1 Infinity
ML2 Eternity
ML3 Immortality

LNK1 Crime = Social Justice
LNK2 Freedom or Death
LNK3 Kill the Reaper

NH1 Secrets Under the Mountain
NH2 Burrows of Tears
NH3 City of Tree Skeleton

NR1 Cross & Hammer
NR2 Black Metal
NR3 Final Battle

SU1 The First City
SU2 Storm, Veil, Mystery
SU3 Mother of Creation

Sounds like a bunch of homebrew stuff.  TSR never approved/published any of that stuff.  I've been collecting since 1992 and never heard of any of it.

The only one to me that sounds possibly related to another product is CE2 Fairy Mound (isn't there an EQ or related book with that title?).  Also, the "CTH" series seems to be Lovecraftian-inspired at least, CTH = Cthulhu, with Dreamlands being one of Chaosium's early releases, and "Providence (Asylum)" perhaps being a play on Arkham.

Just thinking out loud....

I can confirm this deletion. I contributed a few posts and then was a bit perturbed that it was completely gone the next day - I didn't even see a post by Foul saying it was going to be deleted. IIRC, it was a threadjack [interesting items thread?]. I think MShipley or Killjoy started it all.

Stuff like

WG5.5 Mordenkainen's Merely OK Adventure
S5 Tomb of Somewhat Scary Traps

...but better

[Perhaps a good use for this thread?]

Commonly found Hardbacks, which should go without saying, sorry

For pacifists - The Friend Folio

For Spaniards/Mexicans - The Monster Manuel

Dog Lovers - World of Greyhound

And the little-known Dutch OD&D rulebook "Gaities & Denimclogs".

Plus, for the fatherless amnesiac parachutists:  "Plungin' Bastards Guide".

I've wondered if U3 The Final Enemy was a pun on the Sahuagin having fins, i.e., The "Fin-al" Enemy. It always seemed like such a weak title compared to U1 and U2 until I thought of the possible pun.

I even asked Gygax, but he wouldn't bite (sorry). Said he wasn't involved. Led to an exchange of fish puns, naturally. I miss his thread on DF.

I don't think this is the right plaice for this kind of discussion.
