I bought a Dungeon mag several weeks ago and had asked if he was willing to ship by Parcel Post instead of Priority Mail.  He said sure.  After the auction, I requested an updated invoice.  A week passes.  I e-mail again saying I want to pay.  Nothing.  A week passes.  Finally, I hear from the guy and apologizes and sends me an invoice for free shipping.  I haven't received the mag yet, but see no reason why it won't arrive soon.  Patience is indeed key in many of these transactions.   8)

Also, factor in the method of shipment. Media mail takes at least a week in most cases and can take up to two weeks. That is reality. Even first class or parcel post can take up to a week.

Just wanted to second the above comment.  I just mailed a box of RPG materials via media mail.  I mailed it on Feb. 2 and it finally arrived on Feb 18.  It was only going from Southern Maine to New York.  So there you go...a real life example of how slow the USPS really is when you don't pay for their high priced delivery services.

USPS has recently gone through some consolidation and layoffs due to billions of dollars in deficits for their last operating year.  Expect mail service to slowly decline over the next decade as people use it less and less, the infrastructure of the USPS crumbles and less people are expected to do more work.

I too cannot get to the PO the day or even two days after an auction closes as I take care of my 3-month-old. But I DO contact the seller and let them know when the item will be going out and any problems I may be having.

This guy is just plain refusing to ship my stuff even after I paid.

The other stuff I haven't made a dispute with... just frustrated at this point.

Ok this is just stupid:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0364395536

Should I make a claim against this? He won't reply to me at all.  Just asking if it shipped and when, or if he has tracking info... and I get nothing.

Make the claim if it has been two weeks.

After two weeks I would file a claim with Ebay.

The guy has not had any feedback for at least 60 days.

I am guessing he is out of action for some reason.

File your claim with ebay and paypal.

I can't see somebody risking negative feedback for a $2 item. I bet he simply cannot get to his email - for whatever reason. I don't think it would be nefarious, but life can be strange...

Could be a dead computer, car accident, family emergency, a whole host of things...

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Considering the timeline for this, I would state that the economy may have gotten to him.  He may not have access (for many different reasons:  foreclosure, lost job) any more and cannot resolve this.

I would suggest that bbarsh has the best advice - File you claim.

I'd have filed my claim after one week of asking and not getting a response.
