Are you using a Mac as well?

Ever since recently upgrading to Firefox 3.0.5 (still using OS X 10.4) have I been noticing these intermittent problems on my desktop computer. I didn't notice them before when using Friefox 2.x. I remember now that I had seen them more often when using my laptop, which I had upgraded to Firefox 3 a while back.

I didn't have an option through System Preferences --> Software Update to download any newer Java release, so I thought it was only a Firefox 3 browser problem. However, since Xaxaxe mentioned Safari (which I don't use all too often), I tried it out, and I also have the same problem using that browser.

I also use the back button, then I have to refresh the page to eliminate it.

I do not use a Mac. It happens on both a Windows 2000 Professional and XP machine, neither of which is a manufacturer's computer (since I built them both from parts.) It does appear that the error only appears when the Back button is used though I have yet to test it in Internet Explorer (or with the IE View Firefox add-on.) I am running the most current Firefox version on both.

If there were a way to disable it on a per-user (ie, profile) basis, I would definitely shut it it down since I use the back button (or extended mouse click) for most browsing and it does get annoying.

Sorry this took so long -- but the Thread Bubbles have now Vanished. A sad day for many of us, but hopefully this improves the experience a few folks were having.

Thanks, Foul. I wish it could have been disabled per user, rather than globally, so those who liked it could continue to use it, but my experience at this site has been greatly improved now that I can see and read it all.
