I can think of 9 TSR must haves right off. I'd better just stay away from the lists before the number grows any more.

Having culled some stuff recently and being a bit(lot) more focused I currently need 9 Forgotten Realms items to complete my set as well as Swords & Spells for OD&D to complete that set.

Once I get tehm that wil be me done - I'll just pick up odds and ends for reading/reselling, which is what i originally was trying to do in the first place.

I simply do not have the room or the understanding wife to have any other sort of collection unfortunately - lottery notwithstanding of course.

(And I could actually pick up most everything on my list from ebay tomorrow - There's nothing on my list that is particularly rare or pricey (except H1) - it just so happens that I haven't got them yet!)

You can never have too much of something you didn't need in the first place.

This is an interesting topic. I suppose it comes down to what exactly we're talking about when we say "must."

If we use the literal meaning, then my answer is "none." There's no collectible in the world that is a "must" ... the only "must" that matters in life is feeding and protecting my family.

If we mean "really, really like to have," then I guess I'd have a handful. I love gaming magazines, especially circa 1978 to 1983, so I guess I'd like to have complete runs of everything. That would rock pretty hard, I admit.

I think I'm also a little leery of the "it must be mine!" mind-set in general. In the past few years, I've actually found some of my "musts" ... and I've often been disappointed. Classic buyer's regret, probably.

I posted a relatively long list on the first page, but honestly, at this point I really want only the following:

Strategic Review No. 2 (to complete the set of seven)
and
Dwarven Forge type Fantasy terrain/building/caverns/dungeon sets.
Or
Molds, Casts for building my own. (I have already started this)
