Just spent a fair whack picking up 3 DGP Mega-traveller semi-rares. Things arrived today - all covered in DAMN CONTACT! Seller made no mention in his descriptions which was very mean of him as far as I'm concerned. I'm keeping them anyway and I'm not thinking about leaving a neg but what I want to know is this.

WHY THE HELL TO PEOPLE PUT CONTACT ON BOOKS? WHY?

This is a very important question and I need to know the answer fairly sharpish please because it's driving me mad looking at these great books covered in that crap.

a lot of peeps arent collectors and use the stuff, hence its prb done to look after the books better.

Aggh!  That totally sucks.  I have a couple of Shadowrun books that are covered with the stuff and although they are nice and protected they do look like crap.  Got 'em really cheap though so I wasn't necessarily bothered by it.

Yup, I had a rugged set of AD&D core rules books that had the shiny sticky film on the covers. I was not bothered by it. The film protected the books from stains and they were not valuable books anyway.
