my group "tried" to do just that but couldnt hit them....then went into close combat and then proceeded to get slaughtered.

My friend Shawn, who used to post as 'siccus' at the NG message boards, had a great story about the frogs. One of the other players in Shawn's group was kind of a tool - he played a chaotic neutral dwarf and 'roleplayed' his character by rolling on the chart for the Confusion spell periodically and doing whatever the dice said.

They were on the bridge over the frogs and this guy rolled 'attack friend' so he whacked Shawn's character. The response was to push him off the bridge, whereupon the chaotic neutral dwarf in question was swallowed whole.

A CN dwarf is bad news indeed.
In fact many DM's wont allow a PC to have that alignment at all.
BTW: A roll on the Confusion spell chart was simply asking for trouble.

I look at it like this. (Most of the time I like playing a Thief)
Stupid behavior is NOT profitable.
If I would not put up with it in real life I aint gonna do it as a PC either.

OK perhaps sometimes..........

Pretty funny...about the dwarf.

Role-playing flawed people can be more fun than the heroes.

In one of our medieval Europe campaigns one of my guys decided he wanted to play a hengeyokai (Japanese dwarf from Oriental Adventures).

The hengeyokai was a martial artist who managed to stay alive past the first few levels.

At one point he picked up a magic item called tiger claws and he looted a set of tiger suit pajamas (complete with hood and tiger ears) from somewhere....

So, we had this comedy character who looked just like the kid in the book Where the Wild Things Are running about chopping at things.

Yeah...we laughed a lot because it stayed funny the whole campaign.
