I won one, The Game Wizards 4th Dimension. The least desired essentially.

I dont imagine my post mattered much, but I do post things like this from time to time. I do want folks at the Acaeum to be aware of them.

I did miss a BIN on a Misty Isles once from posting, but no regrets. And yes, Ill totally buy that from you if you recall and want to reach out. :)

I for one, am very glad you post some ebay spots - I didn't see these, so thanks! (unfortunately, no wins for me this time  )

How often do these come up? Have you seen them before?

Pictures of some of them (the DMG, at least) were posted on the Acaeum about a decade ago.

I've seen them before. They pop up maybe once a year or so. They also show up at the cons sometimes.

I think one would look amazing framed on a wall. But, as all too often happens these days, I underestimated what they would go for.

I would snap up a licensed reprint.

These are sold prices I took down in November 2019. These were done as BIN so it's not a great comparison.

Basic Set Poster $595
DMG Poster $595
PHB $595
AWFUL GREEN THINGS FROM OUTER SPACE $100
Gamma World $375
4th DIMENSION $85
Boot Hill $135
Divine Right $135
FIGHT IN THE SKIES $100
SNIT'S REVENGE $85
TOP SECRET $135

The vast increases in TSR produced (or associated to) D&D items makes collecting a lot of game history not specifically branded D&D  seem pretty reasonable.

Is there any reasonable way to (more-or-less) safely hang a large poster without using a frame? I have one or two which I might like to actually use, but I don't want to tear up a few hundred dollars in doing so.

In my dilettante opinion, no.

Plus, hanging it naked would offer no UV protection, which depending on the room could fade the poster after just a few years.

Mister, thanks for posting those prices.

I think this is just the start.

No problem, I'll just get it laminated.

COP: "Sir, please put the laminate down and slowly step away from the poster."

Funny story, the seller lives about an hour away from me here in TN.  He bought these at the Nashville Flea Market that just reopened.  I was there also, lol.  Thank gods I didn't miss them (he bought them on Friday and I was there on Saturday)!

Ok, just for curiosity: had the seller of the flea market many posters or just a couple or so per type? Did you see how many of them were on sale?

I spoke to the seller (flea market buyer) over fb messenger.  He did not mention multiples of any of the posters.  He bought them all on Friday and I was there on Saturday and I saw NO TSR/D&D items.

Right!  And I was there the next day and didn't see any fantasy gaming related material.  Which is a specific target when we go to these.  I've even educated my wife in what to look for!
