Is it practical to go looking for "good finds?"

My last good find (cheap but worthwhile, such as JG's Dark Tower for $2) was a pile of stuff from Half-Price Books in 2009. After that, prices went up. The recession probably had something to do with the exact timing, but I was consistently able to to locate good finds before then, & unable to locate goods finds afterwards.

The good thing about starting now is this site is a one stop shop for tons of detail. The forum's history is amazing.

- The Acaeum found my brown box on Craigslist

- I bought my Jade Hare at an auction for $5.00

- I have good luck at HPB, but you have to be patient and see what's available (because their price structure is so wanky...)

I think I've said this before on here, if so I'll say it again - I would not be collecting RPGs if it wasn't for this site PERIOD
