I had a few drinks with Jayson in New York last week, and even got a glimpse at the galleys. It has a really dead-on retro look and feel. I think we're in for a treat.

Anyone else watch the webcast?

I picked up my subscription for the first four issues, too. Thought I was pretty fast, but I was still order # 132. Which seems like good news for the magazine.

I think they said that PDF versions would be available next month.

It's online and viewable on their website.

I bought #1 and took a wait and see approach with respect to the other 3. The artwork looked fantastic and the articles look like a who's who of old school gaming.

With the new shipping costs it's probably not that far off.

I believe flat rate envelopes are up to $25 now with the new raised prices, maybe they are shipping in boxes instead which might be the reason for the higher cost.

Perhaps the Brits could find sympathetic Yanks to buy them issues and send them over cheaper.

I'm sure the publisher could easily ship a case and have an Acaeum volunteer handle distribution from there.

Black Blade donated 8 copies of the OSRIC rules to the Gygax Magazine launch party this past weekend, and I received a very nice thank you note from the editor, Jayson Elliot this morning:

Hi Allan,
I just wanted to say thank you so much for the books you sent for the Gygax magazine launch. Everyone was checking them out all day, and the people who won were really excited to get them. A couple were won by kids under 13 years old, and they were freaking out about them!
I can't tell you how great it was of you to come through on such short notice like that - it really helped make the day a success.

Well, I'm VERY interested in the magazine, as a retailer too, and so I do hope they reach some kind of distribution deal with Alliance that would make overseas distribution far easier. But when I suggested this on Facebook some guy replied: "hey, they (Alliance) got a Facebook page, somebody send them a message!" that is not the best way to submit a product I think...
