I myself bidded 2000$ on them, but it was not enough... :-(

But i must cry FOUL on auctions that end around 4 or 5 in the morning in Italy!!
yankees have a definite comparative advantage over us European guys!

BTW, for how much did the corner of the table issues go?
i bid on them also, with no luck!!!

how can a poor italian guy hope to build his collection if people keep outbidding him???

Congratulations on your purchases. This auction made me very glad that I am not a completest collector. And, convinced my wife that some prior purchases were not sheer lunacy on my part, lol. Good gaming all!

Congratulations! I got outbid on El Conquistador #8. It has the month I was born on the cover (April, 1974) and would have looked great in a frame. Oh well, can't win them all.

I hope someone here got this one: had the write up on EGG's Black Reservoir, the same as an earlier issue, plus some adverts for D&D, a review of D&D and another article by EGG!

Then you hopefully won't have as many letdown feelings.
Or you can just drink a lot of Red Bull/5hr Energy or whatever they have in Italy (multiple espresso shots?) to just stay awake :lol:

Do you mean that both this issue & the other one contain the same article? (I-12 1974 plus II-2 1975)

Not sure which one is Doug's. But, Gygax copy is here with me. I considered bidding on Arneson's to frame them side by side, but didn't want to drop the extra money. I was interested in #5 and in the Brownstone invitation. At least I got the Brownstone invitation!
