A big welcome to Bill Barsh and Pacesetter Games as our latest full sponsor!

Pacesetter needs little introduction here. Their old school themed modules have been a staple for old schoolers for a few years now.  Bill's latest kickstater, Cataclysm at the Acaeum, is fully funded and will be the largest 1st edition boxed set every released.  As usual Pacesetter and Bill will be at NTRPG con this year selling product and running games!

North Texas RPG Con AD&D Open Tournament

Tournament will have one round sessions. Thursday evening (7 -- 11), Friday afternoon (1 -- 5) and Saturday morning (8 -- Noon).

DM: Bill Barsh
Game title: TM4 Return to the Forbidden City
Game system: AD&D 1st Edition
Number of players: 8
Pregens/Level of characters : 5th to 7th, Pregens provided
World/Setting: Greyhawk
Time needed: 3.5 Hour Time Limit

Tournament description: Teams will compete to win the third annual NTX AD&D Tournament. Each team will include up to eight players who will use their skills to gain points as they move throughout the scenario.

Color Description: It was perhaps your most successful adventure. The dragon lay dead and his horde in your hands. But as you exited the dragon's lair your group came under attack. A dozen glass jars flew through the air and crashed at your feet. Noxious fumes filled the air and then darkness filled your brain. You awoke where you had fallen and your comrades slowly lifted themselves off the ground. But something was horribly wrong. Gilsonnette, the priestess, lay dead in pool of dried blood. A horrific wound in her back, spattered with black poison, marked the location where a deadly blade penetrated her heart. Slatrak, your party's thief, along with the dragon plunder, was gone. Clearly, Slatrak had betrayed you, but it made little sense. The thief was anything but. He was brave and selfless. Always putting himself in danger and his relationship with Gilsonnette was like that of a married couple -- often bickering but always a faithful friendship. After the funeral, you and your comrades searched for answers. Three years ago, during an exploration of the Forbidden City, Slatrak had found a strange green ring. He has worn it without pause. His demeanor became more distant. But overall, he seemed normal. After months of searching you have finally learned that Slatrak was part of a massive caravan that delved into the jungle on a course to the Forbidden City. Your whole life has been spent searching out lost treasure or solving other people's problems. But now it is time for revenge and time to Return to the Forbidden City.

Event Details: Instead of a two round tournament, the 2013 event will feature a single round. This way you will only have to register for a single time slot. Only sign up for ONE session.

Those playing in either the Thursday or Friday session have the option to continue play after the set tournament time period ends. We can play until either we decide to stop or all the PCs are dead!

I just got an email today that Jeff Talanian (Castle Zagyg, Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea) will be attending this year's convention! He'll be running games using the AS&SH rules and selling his wares. Good to finally see Jeff, he's been a long-time supporter of the con.  It's worth it to note that Greg Gillespie (Barrowmaze) will also be attending and running a session of his new megadungeon sensation.  It's great that a lot of the smaller publishers like Pacesetter, Black Blade, Eldritch and others can make it to the convention, run their games, and sell their goodies directly to the public.

Everybody gets to use their hormones however they want.  If he wants to use his for something other than head hair, that's cool with me. :P

The problem at my age isn't lack of hair, but too much. I'm having to shave my eyebrows, ears and nose as part of my regular daily chores...

I wish that I could say that I don't have any idea what you mean.

But that would be a sad lie.

Hey !

This is about the NTRPGCon, not Mike's harry back ! I that needs a new thread ....

In any case, various attendees have been sending in new games to be posted for the Con. The Game Grid and registration tabs have been updated a few times over the week. Hope to have more to add over the next moth or so.

We went back to the hotel on Thursday looking it over to verify room size etc.... plenty of room.. I think we're going to feel lost in the space... but that's okay.

If you are on Facebook take a look at the NTRPG con page, I posted a few pics of the new hotel.  It's really a beauty...you are going to be shocked how much space we are going to have.  No one bumping into anyone else's tables anymore, the vendors have plenty of space, really nice.  We hope to get back there again soon and take some pics of the board rooms and smaller meeting rooms.

Also the floor plan layout is on the facebook page:

I created a new tab on the site, you only see it if logged in, it's "Floor Plan"

I have created a page of the Table layout for the main ballrooms and have hyperlinked the Vendor tables that have been spoken for to their respective vendor websites.

Our latest sponsor is Bill Webb, Matt Finch and Frog God Games!  This year FGG has their own separate room with their own vendor table. The room is where the popular Mythrus Tower S&W game will be run this year.  In year's past this has turned into one of our most popular events, with some con-goers spending the majority of the convention being DM'd by Bill or Matt in the depths of the Tower (where you can have the same character year after year, rising in level and gaining experience through each convention until....what exactly is the end-game here, Matt, when my Mythrus Tower character reaches 14th level someday???).

Bill Webb is co-founder of Necromancer Games, and Frog God Games carries on the tradition of "1st edition feel" with products like Rappan Athuk, The Slumbering Tsar, and their latest kickstarter Razor Coast.  Matt Finch of course brought Swords & Wizardry to the first ever NTRPG con and it's now the best established of the retro-clones.  We are glad to have them both here again at NTRPG con and look forward to all the new products they will be offering at their vendor booth!
