Lich isn't a coined term. It's Old English. "LITCH."

Same with Drow. It's Norse. Alternative form, DRAUGH. Rhymes with cow.

Pro-NUN-SEE-ation (as in nation).
I know people who say pro-NOWN-SEE-ation, and even Pro-NUN-SIGH-atoin. There's even a guy who says Pro-NUN-THee-A-THon, but he's got a lisp.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

We pronounced "Bulette" as boo-LAY, with a heavy Peter Sellers faux French accent.

We pronounced "Treant" as ENT.

We say "landshark". :lol:

In my campaign world, I went for a more naturalistic pronunciation of monster names, something a peasant farmer might yell upon seeing the creature. "Help, it's a sahuagin!" becomes "Help, it's a sea devil!". Likewise, Ixatachital becomes Devil Ray, Bulette becomes Landshark, Ankheg becomes a Spitter, etc.

Interesting idea. Mind Flayer becomes a brain sucker. Gorgon is an iron bull. Kobold or a gnoll becomes a dogman. Orc becomes a pig man. Drider becomes a spider man, and a Pit fiend is a batman.....O.K., maybe not. :wink:

PC Notice! That is no longer the preferred nomenclature. Snake persons are hereafter to be known as "Persons of Scale". Other acceptable terms include "Squamous Freeporters" and "The Differently Integumented".

How about Kobold? I pronouce KAW-bold, but I think KOE-bald is seen as correct. Hey, first encountered these words as an 8 yr old or so, old habits die hard.

yep - FWIW Bull-ette, boolay (or whatever) doesn't seem "hard" enough!)
