Or, at least the matter doesn't make it to the paper and get posted online.  The joys of a quick to the trigger press and the permanence of the internet certainly make public service more challenging than it used to be.  If you Google my name, that article comes up on page one and awards, publications and accolades from the city and within and without the museum field are buried. People find scandalous or bad news more entertaining.  It's a shame.

I spent a year before the article and a couple of months after trying to help resolve internal concerns before deciding that I had done what I could there and move on.  I am sure I will give the matter some consideration on an off for the rest of my life.

I certainly wish the city, the museum and the employees well.  I did some great work there and made some lifelong friends.  I remain a museum donor.  After over 15 years at three museums the letter is a stain on an outstanding record and that's unfortunate.

Agree the $150 price is way high; as in that is simply fantasy land pricing, as in it should probably be listed in the silliest auction prices thread.
They made TENS of THOUSANDS of those sets.

I have seen them sell for $20 on several occasions.
A few months ago I purchased a complete set (not SWed though) for $25 in an open e-Bay auction and had to bid against several others to get it at that price.
And at the time, I thought it was plenty high enough and if any of the others had bid again, they would have won.

Keep looking young collector.
And for the future for other RPG related items feel free to post here again.
However; that comes with some risk as well, sometimes doing so looses the item if it is a BIN (assuming the price is indeed worthy) as plenty of members here will steal it right from under you after you ask.

Another option is to write (PM=Personal message) certain Acaeum members for sage advise, as there are plenty of members here who know plenty about the many various aspects of the RPG collecting genre.
This gives you the additional benefit of only alerting one or only a few members about your item.


For you others: I do not in the least apologize for getting back to the original topic and off the side topic.
Perhaps you could start another thread for that side topic?

Someone is putting together a database of D&D stuff. Anyone here from the Ixitixachitls D&D group?

The paint set is product code TSR5900.  Not much info but at least you now have the product code.
