I don't regret ponying up for the book. The way I see it, I was making a donation, and the book was a plus. (I think I'm fonder of the "I Gave for Gary" button, though.)

It'll be a sought after item after ENWorld on a www web archive somewhere in ten years. And if the print run is low, it may well be something worth having in years to come.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Anyone got a piccie?

That's the thing....why a GenCon only product?

Who thought that was a good marketing idea? Who thought that such a book should be exclusive in some way? Why would anyone limit the availability of a book sure to appeal to many people only to those who got to go to GenCon?

I don't understand the thinking. Who gave them this advice?

It's not a Gen Con only product. Go back and read my previous post at the beginning of the thread. And check out the link to the ENWorld thread where this is being discussed at length. If you do, you will notice this quote from the person heading up the project:

Cheers, Gary will be printed in a limited softcover edition of 200 copies, signed by Gail Gygax and Paul Hughes (who each contributed an introduction to the book) at Gen Con 2011. These will be available to everyone who makes a donation of $30 or more at the Old School Renaissance Group booth #1541 and, if copies remain, through Home. After this print run, we plan to do a hardcover edition of "Cheers, Gary" and also a similar collection of his Dragonsfoot Q&A threads. These will be available through the Gygax Memorial website and at conventions and fundraiser events throughout the year.

Hi,

I was a little surprised that this didnt sell out at Gencon.

I could be wrong, but I thought that the old-school stuff seemed a lot quiter than last year.
