The carpet was probably designed by one of the companies that does Casino carpets. They make them this way to keep your eyes up and moving (so you don't get nightmares about the pattern, lol).

Actually, the exhibit halls will all be in the new space (which is where the RCA dome used to be). What used to be the exhibit hall either won't be used by Gen Con, or only part of it will be used, probably for gaming. I'm assuming the auction will be moved, since that hallway won't be near anything otherwise.

But in any case, it will be a lot more space than before.

Hi,

we're in the JW Marriott , even though it looks like a bit of a trog to where the action is this year.

Its now 2 hours after Housing opened, and rooms are still available in at least half a dozen hotels. Must be a record!

my family and myself will be at the jw marriott. we'll see how the distance is when i have to carry a sleeping child back to the hotel room and race back to the auction friday night to bid on some rare item....

I hear there are no rare items allowed at the auction this year so there may be no need to you or Mark to show up Friday Night :wink:

Hi,

given that the dealer halls are moving, it would not surprise me if they tried to accommodate the auction elsewhere too. It could probably do with a little more space anyways.

I never bid in the auction

Concierge rooms at the JW are $30 per night extra, if anyone is interested.

OMG some of those are hideous (Bermuda and Panama I'm looking at you). My wife could see my screen from across the room and kept asking "what the hell is that supposed to be?"

While we're all thinking about NTRPGCon, event registration for GenCon went live today at noon ET. And pretty much all of the (very few) 1st edition AD&D events are already sold out.

If you are going, remember to sign up for Hickman's Killer Breakfast. I don't quite get it, but there are two Killer Breakfasts this year. One is a reprise of one from a prior year ( :?:

-- are they showing a video?); the other one is all-new for this year. The latter is the one I signed up for. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
