Absolutely positive it is it but can't work out where the "Unleashed" title to the image comes from. Has anyone ever seen the image re-used (which would help explain the difference/addition)?

Thanks again for the help with this all and another big thanks to 'Misterspock' - that wasn't just the 4 you helped sort out  (multiple monsters and multiple polearms) :)

J

I'm thinking the "Unleashed" is from an advertisement or some art that was used on a retail display.

I was going to say that I knew Dan had done multiple ones of that particular Dwarf theme, but I didn't realize you had the rest  :)  (believe it or not, I was looking for them at one time!)

Hiya,

life is good, thanks.

Angus is now a Mover and a Shaker - the Great White Hope of the UK Roleplaying Industry (sic). As Mongoose fades, Cubicle 7 rises...  :D

Glad you've got most of them sorted - as has been said, the interior b&w panels may be a little more awkward tho.

Cheers,
Malc

I flipped through some Dragon issues between 1984-and 1985 but haven't seen the Unleashed at yet. It might be in a White Dwarf or Imagine from around that same time...I'll have to get back to you later on this. It's fun hunting them down :D

Best guess is 'Imagine' - issue 25 just identified another I hadn't put up. Don't have any early 'White Dwarf' copies to rummage through so will start looking online...

Malc, glad to hear Angus is doing well... though he was always a 'mover' at Vampire live events  :) . I'll need to give him a slap, suspect the bugger owes me a coffee (and long overdue a catch-up).

Dammit, wish I hadn't moved on my Imagine copies now, could've found those out for you...

I'm pretty sure it's the back cover to a couple issues of Imagine.

I'm pretty sure I've seen 'Unleashed' on a computer game box from somewhere too.. Maybe it was Imagine??  :?

If no one else checks that out by tomorrow, I'll look at my Imagine mags.  I think they're pretty accessible...

Yes, it turns out that they're mostly from Imagine.

Found "Unleashed" - inside front cover of Imagine 25 and back cover of Imagine 26-28.

Was it in relation to a computer game? Or an advertisement?

Could I offer a very big thanks to all who helped with this 'search' so far!

Of the 30 images I put up on the 'Photobucket' site, only 6 remain unidentifed. From the leads generated by the answers, I suspect at least one of those will fall as soon as I can re-locate the copy of 'Imagine' that had the 'Traveller' supplement <sounds of rummaging through the attic...>.

If there were 'Acaeum - Mentioned in Despatches', could I nominate 'misterspock' for the latest one (and 'smarmy1' and... and...). The message you sent didn't just nail the ones on 'Photobucket' but led to sorting out a number of others that I hadn't got round to putting up.

Thanks again all.

J

Right.  One month it was for UK4/UK5/UK6, then X8, then O2.

Re: 'Unleashed'...

I wish the text had just been an overlay with the picture left unaltered - that was what we usually did for adverts when I was at TSR.

Unfortunately in this case the text has been painted directly on to the board and looks contemporary with the picture.

<sigh>
