I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned.
There's a nice WB set on eBay; the link is titled:
White Box Dungeons & Dragons OCE 3 Volume Set Gygax D&D

(I tried copying the link itself--didn't seem to work.)

Based on the current price at well over $370 (23 bids) I think it has been noticed...

And I know that it was posted in this thread a few days ago.

At this point, I think I can open my shrink copy and sell it for double what I paid for it.

Insanity.  Although really tempting.

Agree with Doug; that price was Not insane at all.
If you recently bought a SWed OCE for half that, then you got a GREAT DEAL!

While lately many White Box Sets have sold for lower auction prices, if I had the funds, I would be willing to pay $375 for a Mint SWed OCE, or a Mint SWed 5th print.
And probably even more for a Mint 4th print.
I dont know if they came SWed, but if it did, how could you tell it was not a 5th print without ripping the SW off?

And I already have a Mint 5th and Mint OCE, just not in SW.

I thought you just sold that CA. ;)

Generally, those will be a less "chalky" box than the 4ths, but there is some apparent overlap - line up a few dozen 4ths & 5ths and you'll see what I mean; esp. on the box art. :)

Yep, thhat would have been close to enough I suppose...
But the CA money was claimed by the wife before I even got it. 8O

I once had a bunch of White Box Sets (about 14 or more of them) but I never thought to compare the boxes to each other.
That was about 6 or 7 years ago anyway so even if I had, I would not recall it now I fear.

Thank you for that information in any case.
Of course I am unsure if that information would help me when bidding on a SWed White Box Set on e-Bay... :?

Hector.

Yes, I watched that listing and wondered why...

Not even a picture and the imaginary picture that might be drawn by the sellers description was not that good either.

And then the questions the seller answered did not really improve matters to my thinking.

Some folks were willing to gamble on an unknowing seller having a better item than it seemed.

I wish the winning bidder luck.

Hey everyone,

This looked like an interesting item:

Advanced D&D Mystara Night of the Vampire Audio Box NEW

** expired/removed eBay auction **

I'm not familiar with it, but maybe someone will find a home for it in their collection.

Best regards,

Ronald

Hey everyone,

Ok I am sure that no one has listed these yet.

If you have I apologize for double listing.

AD&D Dungeon Modules G1, G2, & G3 Original Giant Mods

** expired/removed eBay auction **

G3 is a first print.

AD&D Dungeon Modules T1 Village of Hommlet & S2 Plume

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Really nice looking T1 and S2 mono's.

Except that they've been 3 hole punched.... :(

I died a little inside when I saw that.

Best regards,

Ronald

Any guesses where this one will end up?

It has a number of condition issues, so definately not a high grade set.

Torn corner on box top, writing on box.

All three books also have issues,

Men with a seperated cover and Writing inside all three books...

("to enhance game play" seller states) I actually like the sellers choice of wording there. 8)

Not mentioned, but I think I see staple rust on Books 2 and 3, and I suspect Men also has that.

Could be shadows though.

If I were going to bid I would ask several questions first.

The Greyhawk Supplement Book means little to me in this case, as it has condition issues too... perhaps $30-$40 since it is a 2nd print.

Still ANY woodie is rare... Maybe $1050...

Even in that condition and even in this economy...

Or at least that would be my ceiling for that set.

It's a B11, which is significantly harder than B12 to find in SW. It took me about 5 years to find a SW copy, while I occasionally happened to notice auctions of a SW B12 which I had found after only a few months of searching.
