And people were breaking my balls when I wanted $3000 for mine in the shrink?  :?  I have to say, higher than I expected for sure.

Do not feel like you are alone.
I wanted a lot less than you did for my copy in SW when I listed it on e-Bay.
Of course my copy failed to sell on e-bay and some forum members poked fun at my listing.
That was a short time after one sold for $3050 on e-Bay (yours?).
Even so, I sold it off-line to a local collector but only because I needed the funds then, otherwise I would have kept it.
OB3 has never gotten the respect it deserves here (by many), though a few members here do respect it as a high end collectable.

I do not know why something like the British TSR Module ST1 commonly sells for that amount ($2300) and more and most feel a minty OB3 should sell for $850.
I have always felt and still do think the OB3 has fewer surviving copies than the ST1, yet very few folks agree with me (and almost no one important).
Even after this sale (above) the OB3 still has a long journey to gain true respect.

Gnat,

Consider me one of those that agree with you wholeheartedly!  I paid handsomely for my SW OB3 and it was worth every cent to me.  It deserves the respect of an ultra-rare, high value item because it is one!  I also expect to pay a lot for the other ultra-rares I need - I started collecting much later than others so I understand that I will have to pay more, it's just the nature of collecting in 2104+.  I'm not going to lament and complain about what things cost.  It's just what it is.  So, instead of saving up a few hundred bucks for the casino or a weekend cruise, I put it in to a few books.

Someday, perhaps we can convince the collecting community to 'fess up to how many OB3s they own so that we can get a real count of what's out there.

eBay listings

am I on drugs or is the Seller? I can't see any reason I would pay $525 for some D&D Cartoon Puzzles unless they are like ultra rare?

I would like to have the puzzles. I'll take anything D&D AD&D whatever from the 70s and 80s like that

Wow. I'd like to have copies of the puzzles too but I wouldn't touch that price! Lol

Of course, I do have several of the comics and I'd force myself to part with them for half of his asking rate. :D

$200 for a DMG... If only it didn't have a water stain inside, maybe the seller could get $300 or $400!

i just missed it! that's a bargain! I mean seriously though, I often wonder where sellers come up with those prices? Amazon? NobleKnight? Are foreign buyers paying those prices? If so I need to start selling international!

they should market that stain as a 'gygaxian' coffee stain! or a mentzer tea spill! then they could get some big $$

well, this 6th print DMG is less than that $200 super-stained one from numerous weeks back, but this one has a badass library grade sleeve taped over the cover ... and some super sweet corner damage! All for the low BIN of $155!

Very hard to find an quite collectible

Indeed! :D

I would imagine he meant to list it at $15, judging by the other auctions he has. Or maybe he lives near peyote.

and here's a $149.99 BIN on a later print Deities & Demigods ... certainly can't be an added number/typo since the starting price is $19.99

For a 2nd printing? Even a 1st doesn't usually break $1K. Wow.
