In a case like that, what would keep someone from Frankensteining a woodgrain set for sale? Is there a way to tell which booklets actually came with a set?

The winner is not going to Frankenstein it, I can promise you that.

But yes, it is possible to tell which books went with which box. In this case, 2nd printing.

I still chuckle to think that despite having been an AD&D player thoughout the 80's, I never came across these early boxsets until joining this forum a few years ago and thought these woodgrains were actually wood...

I'd still like to get a better lid for my whitey though (or creamy as it looks) so will keep on looking. :lol:

Tractics - seller claims it is 1st edition.

Box top is damaged, bottom missing and replaced with a GDW box bottom.

Books appear to be in nice shape.

$64.00 BIN.

Not a first printing. I wonder if the seller reads the forum? Originally I posted his auction in the Silliest Price Thread when the BIN was $115. I still wouldn't pull the trigger at $64.

$10 looks about right for that copy - it has some issues on the bottom corner. These aren't very sought after so $10-$20 are typical prices.

That looked like a helluva lot to pay for some old photocopies. Would really be interested to find out if this turns out to be real, but have my doubts.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

The ranks of The Stupid have been increased by one. I would say two, but the seller made $245 on a Kinko's effort, so that makes him/her an ass, not stupid.
