What the hell?  8O

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/201 ... dult-baby/

In an email response to The Washington Times, Mr. Thornton threatened to kill himself if his Social Security payments are taken away, and said the television episode showing him doing woodwork oversold his abilities.

"You wanna test how damn serious I am about leaving this world, screw with my check that pays for this apartment and food. Try it. See how serious I am. I don't care," the California man said. "I have no problem killing myself. Take away the last thing keeping me here, and see what happens. Next time you see me on the news, it will be me in a body bag."

Stop sending his check.  Problem solved.  :x

Has anyone else ever received an item packed in an empty cereal box with no padding? Today was my first. Miraculously, the item is intact, though it's a heck of a way to ship a shrinkwrapped gaming screen   . I didn't want to put this in the shady dealers thread, as this seems to be a case of cluelessness/carelessness. The seller's eBay ID is "briannebran" in case you want to avoid her.

Does your newly purchased screen smell "magically delicious?"

:D

Why wasn't it a giant shock to me to learn the suicidal adult baby lives in California?

No. In that case I would be pissed off. It smells like f'ing Kellogg's Corn Flakes (not really, since it was shrinkwrapped...yes, smarmy, that's right, was...).

The Sun is not a full-blown tabloid?

Real news sites are reporting that the botox story is a fake, though how many are just re-sourcing is another matter:

Well, been through a hell of a lot recently in life, so I'm really excited about doing the 3 Peaks Challemge next week for 4 great charities here in the UK. Slightly concerned this morning though with the weather report today for Ben Nevis, the mountain we will be climbing first next Saturday!
Minus 14 wind-chill and up to 70mph winds at the summit with up to 2m of ground snow....!

Wish me luck!!! :)

The world is ending today, so its been nice knowing all of you.  ;)

Also, it's good to know that the Centers for Disease Control is ready for the zombie apocalypse.

On a lighter note.
I got an Achievement Award and a personal note of appreciation from the President of e-Bay for becoming a RED STAR member.
It is signed and everything!

I now feel like my life has some meaning.
Glad I got it before the world ended tonight...

Awesome....

My wife tells me that the Rapture begins at 6:30 p.m. on the International Date Line (according to CNN), and will proceed from there (I guess hitting each time zone at 6:30 p.m.). Why 6:30 is the magical mystical number I have no idea. I hope they cover the reaction/explanation of these yahoos when nothing unusual occurs.

I become a red star a couple months ago and I don't remember getting anything.  I do remember getting a note shortly after giving me an update that my next achievement level is only 4000 feedback away.  It only took 13+ years to get the red star, I'm sure the next 4000 feedback will fly by.

i think we should start a poll question: if you knew the apocalypse was imminent, would you open all of your shrinkwrapped items?

Of course, perhaps the apocalypse wasn't in fact imminent, but the opening of all that shrink could bring it on . . .

I've done my little part.  Picked up one of my missing rares the other day, the bag still sealed, and . . . Smarmy, avert your eyes now . . . opened it and started reading.   8O

Looks to me to be about half an hour to 6 pm in England right now.  Could all of our English members sound off after that to let us know if they're still around?  If not, I'll be flying over to pick up your collections, as you won't be needing them anymore.   :D
