** expired/removed eBay auction **

If you are bidding on this book STOP!
Just after it was first listed; I sent a few questions to the seller, which were swiftly responded to and the question/response is even posted to the listing.
READ THEM!
This book is a 3rd print and is missing several pages, yet bids are at $25 with 13 bids so far....

I wonder if the name on the front means anything of importance?  Just seems a little different from the usual "property of" type of scribbles.

It appears to be the autograph of SSI/Andre, an umber hulk whose modelling career peaked in the late 1980s.

Wasn't SSI a company that made some D&D related computer games?  Or am I misremembering?

Aha!  Even if we could confirm a connection, I don't know if it would be that cool, but at least I'm not totally crazy, so that's nice.   :D

I wonder if perhaps they are confusing the product with TSR's "Classic Warfare".

The description seems to fit that product *exactly*.  Perhaps it is also some other publishers ripoff of TSR's "Classic Warfare".

There was an André Vrignaud that worked at SSI on Dark Sun games, for example:

Edit - this is in 90's of course w/ SSI - not sure why killjoy32 said 80's, these books weren't published till 1989, right?

Only 2 hours left but I also found this interesting. So I dug out my old SSI Gold Box Books only to discover they quit listing the game credits after Curse of Azure Bonds. Wikipedia (I know it's a wiki reference) lists André Vrignaud as a Game Tester on Pools of Darkness (1991) also. Kind of interesting
