The buy of the year.....  or photocopies?  I don't see evidence of staples.... and blue?

I didn't pull the trigger... am betting you won't either.

I don't know whether they're photocopies or not, but the blue coloring looks like some jackwagon took a highlighter to a couple of the books. One of the volumes that isn't blue looks like it has some blue staining transferred from one of the colored ones. A couple almost look like they have staples, hard to tell.

If that's blue marker... probably used up a couple of them.

On another note.  Do you get a +1 spell bonus bonus if your spell book color is aligned with the castings..    red spell book +1 fireball?  Blue....

In some situations that might be worth coloring a 4th print book?  ....

I know money can't buy happiness but attack bonuses are another matter...

I am constantly shocked at what people pay on ebay for those True Dungeon Tokens to take to GenCon...

For my money.... it would be tempting to stop buying $20-500 wooden nickels and show up with a real ax!

After reading your posts and looking again, I think the Blue Marker theory holds a lot of weight.

Plus the Greyhawk is missing the outer cover completely.
The picture of that book is showing the Second Prints Copyright page inside the cover.

A blue marker would leave stripes...more like someone spilled blue dye on them.  Seller should chuck 'em in the trash.   They are abominations.

Alternatively, find someone who might use them as gaming copies?

Hey if you think you can convince the seller to drop the price down to a couple of bucks instead of $39.99, be my guest.

Definately photocopies. Old ones at that I'm guessing. Notice the lack of color on any of the "Dungeons & Dragons" headers or titles. I can see staples on at least the U&WA.

It looks as though someone ran a friend's books through a copier (I'm guessing this person worked at a grade school, so the process would be free), used construction paper for the covers, and at some point, they got water damaged, bleeding blue onto the non-blue books. As I recall, the dyes on construction paper bleed rather easily when wet, but it has been some time since I've used any.

Seller has some older Dragon mags at a decent bin but the shipping looks high. Says he will combine shipping costs but best to get quote before bidding.

I've picked up a few single digit issues from this seller - shipping is a little high but the product delivers.  Never seen cleaner issues.  Not to say there might be a dud in the current run, but the ones I got were flawless.
