Ninety degrees F? And they are issuing heat warnings? I thought I was going to melt on Sunday....it got up to 104 F where I was at and I just happened to be outside during the hottest part of the afternoon. Wouldnt have been all that bad but the 85% humidity made it more miserable than it already was.

At least there were no zombies.

Where I live in Atlantic Canada it is 16 C (61 F) and raining with 96% humidity.
The highest temperature predicted all week is 24 C (75 F) with rain for the next seven days.

I saw zombies, but shotgun fire scattered them before they reached the houses....

Yes, it is very nice indeedy here, although we are not used to much over 75/80 on a regular basis. Oh, and I am "working from home" today as well, just popped out to water my azaleas. [insert 'smug bastard' emoticon here] :lol:

I'm down this neck of the woods too and permanently work from home! I love the summer..!! :lol:

OT.....

Anyone have any experience having things made out of rubber?
I need to have a small rubber gasket made, about 28mm diameter, 8mm thick with a little depression in it. Black rubber like car tyre rubber, vulcanised I think it's called.

Anyways, I need to gat about 500 of them and I can provide design and 3D modelling in CAD for it, but I have no idea how to get something like this prototyped and then manufactured.

Ideally looking for a small one man band type business, and I figured if some guys here have experience in manufacturing, and maybe some guys know about making molds for miniatures, I might get some pointers or a contact that way.

Hiya,

we have a portable air-conditioning unit for our bedroom. Worth its weight in gold. I set it up today, after putting it away for the winter.

What our American cousins forget is that they have air-con in lots of places as standard - we don't

its been pretty hot here the last few days...today the weather was lingering on 88-90F and the humidity level was quite high too. so there i was sat there at about 11am thinking perfectamundo....training weather

so on went the gear, all black clothing and my backpack, just over 15lbs in weight and went and did an hour...gee did i sweat and then some. it really was hot.

That's the main problem with weather in the Pacific Northwest...

We have mild winters and moderate summers, but all of the military activity makes the zombie problem a real bother.

A show of hands for those of us who plan to lose a finger this weekend? Perhaps some skorched eyebrows? Maybe someone will hear something like this: Bob bring me another beer while I figure out why this M80 did not go off?

Luckily I do not have to buy fireworks myself, as I live in a neighborhood with a lot of houses that are what I refer to as "starter houses for families that have more than 20 members." These folks do not have a lot of money but they somehow find a way to have lots of beer and fireworks. My housing addition will be rocking, drunk, and exploding this weekend. I'm not joking about this either. In my housing addition each street competes with the others for loudness and ferocity of fireworks. My dog will be a psycho case this weekend.

Ahh... the traditional mud-fest that is Glastonbury, the biggest music festival in the world.

Bit old for that now

Made it to Live 8 to see the Floyd and the Who a coupla years ago, but I think a trip to Glasto now would finish me off

Watched Springsteen on tv live on Saturday nite tho.

Ah now that brings back memories. Even though M-80's are illegal in the U.S. my dad got his hands on a box of them about thirty years ago. We went to a fireworks festival at a nearby lake and while everyone else was shooting off bottle rockets and roman candles, he decides to toss an M-80 in the lake (waterproof). After about 10 seconds there was a big "WHOMP" sound from the lake and an explosion of water that shot up about 20 feet in the air. It was hilarious watching hundreds of nearby people jump out of their socks all at the same time. :lol:

Unfortunately most of the fireworks displays around my neck of the woods are controlled. We can buy all the fireworks we want but can't light a single one of them within 30 miles of where we live due to restrictions.
