we're in the Marriott Downtown. I think we MAY have got the last room left there in the Traders Block.

The friends who are coming with us are in the Embassy Suites.

I just hope Crazy Egor's booth is close to Malc's. Don't wanna miss out on any good stuff at either of them. Do they let you bring sleeping bags into the convention center? Was thinking of camping out in front of the doors this year.

Don't you want to stand in that huge throng of people like we did last year. You know, the merriment of busting ballons and the sweat that was pouring out of every pore. Those were good times. :roll:

Oh you bet....good times fer shur. :lol:

1) Some idiot got up and stood on his friends shoulders so he could see Gary Gygax and almost fell which would have injured several people.
2) Another tool that looked identical to Mario Batali (down to the orange crocs he was wearing) pushed past a bunch of people to get closer to the doors and was pissed that he couldnt get any closer and ended up having to push his way back thorough everyone again, further irritating everyone in his path.
3) Being sandwiched between all those people was like being dumped in a pool of quicksand filled with dead fish. I couldnt move and it smelled like Hell.

Well, we'll be coming in on the tuesday afternoon.

I dont know how strict Hall security is, but I'm happy for anyone who helps to set up the stall (ie Badmike?) to wander in with me then or on wednesday.

In the UK Gencon security is non existant at Setup, so give someone a box to carry and they'll be let in.

Just do what the Missus tells you to and they'll probably think youre just one of the team! :lol:

Security is very strict: if you don't have an Exhibitor badge, you don't get into the exhibit hall before 9am/10am Thursday morning.

thanks for the offers of help!

There are 3 of us with Exhibitor badges, but we don't want to be stuck behind the stall all the time - we would like a look round the Fair, maybe go to different bits of the auctions, and possibly the Missus want to go shopping

So a bit of help would be appreciated, tho I guess we'll have to sort it out when we arrive!

Back when GenCon was in Milwaukee, I was in a similar throng, eagerly awaiting the opening of the doors. I fell instantly in love when some girl-gamer started hollering. "Crowd control! Willie Pete! Willie Pete!"
