looks very nice martin. i think the orange matte works well with the green beastie. speaking of getting things framed, i finally took the original city-state map to some highly recommended framers today. after i get it back i will endeavor to send along a picture.

That does look nice Martin, the orange is a nice contrast.
Its a good sign of the art, that it'll take an orange or green matte and still look good.

Martin,

That looks great (as does yours BJ). The orange threw me at first, but it draws one's eye in to the piece extremely well.

Would you mind telling us what is written on the plaque?

I have one of those Gray's Anatomy too, but not hardcover.

Took mine to the frame shop this morning. I am going for the floating deckled edge. I must say the price made me blink. In fact since I will be hanging it in an interior room with little natural light, I opted for regular glass instead of museum-quality glass. This alone saved me $141. Well, that, plus the look I gave the framer.

Should be ready in about a week!

Could have went with the "blue" color from the breath weapon as well. The frame is guilded with muted copper which really adds some nice "bling" to the peice. However, the copper does not show up so well in the pic.

I decided not to show the deckled edge as the framer said that they would have to use some sort of adhesive to hold the print in place.

Here's a recent Russ Nicholson private commission (posted by the artist on his blog):

Went back to my roots with this private commission, which shows a 'reworking' of the Githyanki and Githzerai who first appeared in TSR's 'The Fiend Folio'.

quite right too, a wonderful piece, strikes a real chord for me - I'd even go as far as to say I'd pay bad money (which is clearly more valuable than good money :wink:

But, that piece does cry out AD&D. I love the Gith (always brings back early memories along with the DMG internal line artwork)
