Got a set of them and they are exactly like Frank describes - worn to the point of looking like ugly marbles.

Yeah, saw that. A must have for that one. Funny, I've purchased a few of these old sets loose on eBay for a few bucks... now, I'm not the uber-expert, but I'm darn certain the ones I purchased are fairly old (I compared them to the original "marbles" I have from my first basic set I got in elementary school). They seem to be the same. Perhaps I landed them cheaply with timing or luck. I love rolling my original d20 and waiting for several seconds for it to stop rolling!

Well that listing did also include an early Greyhawk - Supp 1 and an early Blackmoor - Supp 2.
If those supplements were both first prints then that price is not at all out of the realm of viable IMO.
However; it was missing the reference sheets.

$56 (at the time of this post) for JUST A SET OF USED/WORN DICE ?!?!?

Those dice were part of the reason I purchased this listing.

OD&D White box set (clearly an OCE print) for $156 and IMO the box set itself was worthy of most of that amount alone.
The set is complete.
Box is in good condition with a couple of dings on the corners, but not torn.
Has some writing on inside of box bottom; see the 5th picture where the seller shows the writing mentioned...
Barely mentioned in the listings text are shown two sets of those old dice, also two crayons; one White one Black.

From the other pictures provided, Greyhawk is a 2nd printing, hard to tell what Blackmoor is, but it is possible that it is a 1st.

That one has been listed at that price for a looooong time. It's more like a $40-50 item.

Areas of interest/knowledge: Harn, WFRP, Ars Magica, anything BRP based such as CoC, Runequest, Pendragon and all their related games

I've said this before I owe Aaron a beer when I meet him.....he's been listing a lot of Ebay lately and he's been helping my sales immensely....his prices are so high on some stuff I just have to list 20-50% below his price and get an almost immediate sale!!! :wink:

Is there a way to know what the best offer was? Couldn't it have sold for $40?

(which begs the question, why list for so high?)

It wasn't sold when I posted.

One thought that occurred to me: The seller and buyer reached an accord off-auction. The seller lists it at an outrageous price so no one snags the BIN, then the buyer 'offers' a pre-agreed sum, and presto, sale is made.

Just a thought anyway.
