Hiya,

Happy Red Nose Day everyone!   :jocolor:

Not seen many red noses yet in Edinburgh, but there are a few - tho I am unsure if they are plastic or real!   :compress:

Cheers,
Malc

Ran across something today that some people might find interesting:

http://gamerati.com/loot/

Woot for gamers I guess.  :)   Hopefully they will dump a few interesting games there from time to time.

The owner(i think) posts the deals every so often at BoardGameGeek(username ephealy). The loot website is pretty new...was started about a week or two ago. More information directly from the owner --> http://ephealy.com/2011/03/21/loot-less ... ed-week-1/

I bought a set of random dungeon generation dice (4 d6s) a couple years back on eBay. They weren't quite as nice as the mockup at the link looks, but they would do the job. I'll see if I can find them again...

EDIT: These aren't the ones I bought (they're d12s, for starters) but more or less the same idea:

From a New York Times comments blog, writing from India: "France incidentally is the lone nation among European NATO allies to operate a single medium attack aircraft carrier in shape of Charles de Gaulle (R91).So air bases in and around Italy may prove to be critical in the present campaign."

Can America really afford to be left behind in this category? We have an aircraft carrier named Ronald Reagan, but as far as I know it's not actually SHAPED like him. Why not?

Epic rap battles of history:  Albert Einstein vs. Stephen Hawking.  Really.  Warning: the language may be a bit NSFW.

With the possibility of no football (or reduced) this year, and a basketball playoffs that seems to be pre-decided already (Lakers, yawn), I've been forced to renew my interest in the Texas Rangers baseball team. Coming off their best year in history (40 years of misery), it was great to see them utterly demolish the Red Sox in the first series of the year, mostly because all the bandwagon Bosox fans in their gear coming out to the ballpark all weekend getting humiliated.  Anyone else turning to baseball for something to keep your interest because of the failure of other sports?

Of course.  I just hope the Rangers pitching can keep overachieving the rest of the year and their bats continue to produce.  And as for the Cubbies....well I just hope they can win more games than the Pirates and Brewers.  :(   Speaking of the Cubs, whether you love them or downright loathe them, this should induce a laugh or two.

I laughed so hard, especially at this:

"Every time I walk out to the mound I just assure the guys that at least we will all be dead eventually," Quade continued.

I wish a major league manager would really pull this bon mot out at times when a guy is getting shelled....
