The UK dvds are region coded differently than the US ones, so unfortunately you can't view them on your standard dvd player. You could put them in your computer to view them and it'll probably prompt you on changing the region code of your dvd drive. However, I think that the computer will only allow you to change region codes for playing approx five times and then sticks you with that. So for instance, you play a US dvd (region 1). Then you put in the UK dvd (region 2?). The computer then prompts you about the region change. You click "ok". Later you want to watch your US dvd again. The computer would then prompt you about the region change. I think this is where you're stuck with going through the five changes.

In addition to region coding, there is also NTSC vs. PAL encoding that could be an issue. If you have a region free player that can do NTSC<--->PAL converstion, then you'd be okay.

The DVD drive on one of my laptops is flashable, and last year I experimented with changing regions and flashing the drive. It resets the count. I needed to recode the three disks for The IT Crowd that I had, which were PAL.

If you hit a Rowsdower, you get to keep it.

It's impossible to copy British humor. I think the US version will fail miserably. It'll be no different than the typical sitcom crap.

The 1982 calendar is a good one, especially the Elmore on the cover that he spoofed for Snarfquest once. I sold mine a couple years back for only a few dollars so I don't think there is much demand.

I've never seen the calendars go up notably. A shame; lots of good art. An inconvenient size for shipping & storage, but I don't think that's the issue; gamers just don't seem to buy art. :/

Seems so. I had 5 of the Dragonlance calendars from about the 1988-94 range sell for a whopping $10 about a year ago. To someone in the Netherlands as I recall. Shipping was about double the sale price. The 'Art of the D&D game' book also sold for less than $5.
