This fills me with happiness. It can't be worse than King George's 1-3, and talent has to be lining up around the block to write and direct this.  Pirates of the Caribbean was better than anyone of the last three Star Wars movies.

I have the same feeling about it. Lucas screwed the series up. I can't see Disney doing worse and they can do some good stuff. I think they will be good news for Star Wars.

The other piece of advice is to wear ski-bibbs.  These waterproof overalls can be rented at any good ski place, or you can buy them ahead of time.  If you are learning, you will fall a lot.  If you fall and you are just wearing jeans or cloth, you'll get soaking wet in no time and be miserable.  The same applies to gloves.  If they are made of gore-tex, your fingers should stay much warmer and drier.  Cloth gloves offer no protection at all once they get wet.   8)

Great advice.  Never heard that about the poles. OTOH, I actually have one of those 'overall' type ski suits; my brother-in-law lent it to me for the trip. I thought it looked ridiculous, but now I understand...wet ass, at 10am at 40 deg F, not cool. Copy that.

Thanks,

Hector

Great news! I am stoked, although expectations are going to be too high to possibly be met for many fans.   :?

And happy Halloween everyone!  With a full moon!   :spiderman:

I didn't think it deserved a thread, so have any of you guys used PDFs of AD&D material and converted it to be read on a kindle? All a bit left field I know, but my lad has a kindle, which I'd like to get the
core books on so he can read them and get an understanding of the rules rather than use a book which is pretty fragile as it is.
Otherwise I might just look for some cheap reading copies??

Somebody won, therefore we will have four more years of war. If the other guy had won, we'd have four more years of war. Hooray hoorah, for we are a nation of whores.

My son wanted to go to the movie, Cloud Atlas for his birthday.  I did not like the film at all.  Maybe it shows how unsophisticated or unintelligent I am, but it never came together for me.  My son liked it, but he wasn't wowed by it.  The worst part was that it was so long, but if you stay through to the end, I recommend staying until after the initial set of credits where they reveal short takes of all the different characters that the main actors played as some actors played five or six characters, some who are not so obvious.

If you go to the movies anytime soon, and I'm not the biggest flick-o-phile, see Argo, although the reviews for Skyfall appear to be good.   8)

Syfy Channel is doing a Dungeons & Dragons Movie Marathon on Saturday, November 24th.  The special effects look better that some of the other Syfy fantasy specials.

6:30 PM Dungeons & Dragons: The Wrath Of The Dragon God
9:00 PM Dungeons & Dragons: The Book Of Vile Darkness

I found this information here.
http://www.syfy.com/schedule/?date=2012-11-24

The trailer for the new movie is here:

I bet this new movie sucks.   :(   Still, I give them props for trying.   :)

Why do they insist on doing everything in over-the-top mode. It just stinks of power-gaming and the story will probably suck.
A simple adventure with solid characters would do wonders for a good D&D movie. Let the "real" D&D loose and it could be fantastic.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

There has yet to be a good D&D movie, and now we are getting two from the channel that brought us "Sharktopus."  Don't get your hopes up...

I might be in the minority, but I liked Wrath of the Dragon God. It had a solid group of character archetypes that worked well together. The set and acting were a little on the cheaper side, but it was a solid step in the right direction.

RPG’s, D&D in particular has had a major influence in my life. It’s bonded me together with life long friends...it’s that bond in life not just as friends, but in our jokes, our mannerisms, and what we find funny. Invincible Overlord
