I remember being in Atlanta back in the blizzard of '93...

I was staying at a friend's place while waiting for the LARP event to start (NERO), and my card couldn't make it back up the hill to get to the event. And then on the way home coming back up I-75, I ended up parking on the right hand lane like everyone else until the following morning (yeah it was that bad...). I'm lucky I had my sleeping back with me 'cause Atlanta hit a record low of 0 degrees that night I believe...

RPG’s, D&D in particular has had a major influence in my life. It’s bonded me together with life long friends...it’s that bond in life not just as friends, but in our jokes, our mannerisms, and what we find funny. Invincible Overlord

Tuesday night, about thirty minutes after the snow started, I had to go pick up my son from a friend's house.  I made it there and back fine, but I was surprised at how bad the roads were already becoming.  We only had three inches of snow, but it became 1/2 inch of ice on the roads which was the real problem.  I have stayed off the roads until this morning, and I am glad I did.

Finally, I saw this on Twitter and Facebook;

"Ok, Northerners, stop criticizing how we handle snow and ice. It's rare down here. Kind of like winning a BCS Championship up there."

Of course, if we played the bowl games up here in the cold, those southern teams would fall apart...  <grenade successfully tossed>

Hello Americans!! ... I know that all you guys over there have that big American Football Superbowl championship thingummy this weekend (or sometime soon anyway), and alongside the game there are some blockbuster adverts. Here are two advance release superbowl ads that caught my eye...

One for Jaguar cars.

Jaguar USA - YouTube

One for beer (that isn't actually being shown, but is a spoof. And also a wee bit rude if you are watching at work).

Anna Kendrick: Behind the Scenes of the Mega Huge Game Day Ad Newcastle Almost Made - YouTube

...also Newcastle Brown Ale is pretty good :)

Five times the top offense in the league has met the top defense in the SB, and four times the top defense has won.  I'd add the 2000 Ravens to that list also, IO...they won the Superbowl with Trent Dilfer at QB....and if you read about or remember the game, it was much, much worse a beating than even the shellacking the Seahawks put on the Broncos yesterday (34-7 with no offense points scored by the Giants, the only TD by them being a kickoff return).

Hello, this may probably have been addressed somewhere here before - so apologies if this is noob-ish

What is a comprehensive list of where to search to buy something in particular (an out of print rpg item)?

Here are the sources I know of that come to mind:

ebay
noble knight
waynes books
goodwill online
posting an ad seeking on acaeum classified
amazon

Any other good sources for acquiring things that I am missing?
Thanks

Has anyone seen Flight from Shadow ?

Flight from Shadow, a Wheel of Time short film | RPGames.be

It's a fan made short film that shows a scene from The Eye of the world in the Wheel of Time series. There's also a making of on my blog.

Definitely don't forget the Classified sections of many gaming forums, sometimes if you time it right you can get a great deal.

I'd say Amazon is a non-starter unless you just get very, very lucky....90% of the time it's way overpriced.

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

Shoulda been: ".. from Pangreenia to Floratopolis, from mystical Treeonia of spectral Forests to Schruborial dimensions." - The Forests of Leng

Posting a wanted ad in the classifieds is always good.  I have a fairly large selection of nonTSR RPG and small press stuff but have not been as organized lately as I have in the past.

Here's a link to an out-of-date version:  Planet Mars!
