Can a participant bid?
If a participant wins, does he get 2 characters?

If you win, Frank, you have to jump back and forth between chairs, playing either a crusty elder gaming statesman or a wild-eyed awe struck gamer who spills his drink and stutters when spoken to by the special guests.  Good Luck!

And dont forget to ask the Special Guests to autograph your Character Sheet.
I know I would....
I have been outbid for that seat... but they did have to go up a bit from $10 to do so.

There has been a rumor that there may be a set of the stupidly rare Greyhawk reference sheets at the con auction this year....to be sold on behalf of an Acaeum member.

I've also been offered a chance to auction an unpublished Jean Wells manuscript that someone owns, but that one I would need to look at first....

If we get some more cool items this year that may mark 2012 as being the year the NTRPG con auction finally become "Must Attend" for collectors!

Some interesting items for the auction are being mentioned, that may or may not actually make it to Dallas. But one for sure that will be added (now in my possession) is a rare DM's copy of The Temple of the Weaver Queen, run by Tim Kask at the very first NTRPG con in 2009. This is a DM copy and has Tim's notes inside, as well as the names of all the participants on the back cover. Inscribed "For Lance---Good Gaming Tim Kask June 5 2009 NTRPGcon" This will go on the list this weekend. By the list of participants, this looks like the game that produced NTRPG con's first TPK!

Congratulations to Zach (Nogrod) for winning a seat in the NTRPG con Charity Game (all four hours)!  Featuring six of our special guests (Sandy Petersen, Jennel Jaquays, Steve Winter, Tim Kask, Frank Mentzer, and Jim Ward) and two extra seats (one for Zach and one revolving), this game will be DM'd by our very own Doug Rhea.  Zach won the seat with a bid of $152.50, all of which will go to our favorite con charity, Variety Texas (varietytexas.org) which helps special needs children.

The other open seat in the game will go to various people who win drawings during the game itself...tickets are $10 each, and one will be drawn each hour. If you buy multiple tickets, you can play more than one one-hour session.  The tickets will be on sale the day of the game (Thursday). Thanks to everyone that bid!

Zach remind me I've got a signed item for you from someone not at the con this year so no one else will have one...... :D

Hey guys, I may be asking in the wrong spot and if so just point me off in the right direction.

I really, really wanted to make it for my first trip there this year but it just isn't going to work out.  I'd really like to pick up some of the NTRP con items.  Can these be bought or would someone be willing to purchase some for me while there?  I am somewhat of a newbie around here but trust me I'm probably a bit more fanatical about this stuff than common sense would dictate.   :)

Hello!

We usually sell left-overs on rpgmarketplace.com after the con, so register there because when they go up they are soon gone.  With as many people as we expect this year, there may not be a lot of extra NTRPG con items.  As in year's past we are again limiting items to one per person but you can have someone buy items for you if they don't want the items themselves.  Last year we used a ticket system but this year we think we are going to just cross off names from a list when you buy the items.

We went to crossing off names again since using tickets last year made it too easy to just ask another attendee not using their tickets to just give them or sell them to someone else... so some people went home with 20 copies of a book...

By crossing off names when a purchase is made, others will have to approach someone and ask them to buy the item and then pay them for the items.... it should cut down on people going home with 20 books... since it requires a bit more interaction with someone you don't know than "can I have you tickets if you aren't using them"...

We will see, but it seemed to work well in 2010 this way

Hey!

I just bought four raffle tickets....under my wife's name, because it was originally her PayPal account.

So, I figure if my wife wins, she'll probably give the item(s) to me.

If it's the free trip, you hope she does...otherwise we will be wining and dining Mrs. Formcritic in 2013!

I mentioned this on the Facebook page but I wanted to put it here as well. Why, well because I am just to damned excited for words. I just had to make a scheduling reminder in my iPhone to remember and email Erol Otus on Monday.

Lol, I am sure I will remember without the iPhone, but I went ahead and put it on the reminders anyway!

I will not to tell him that Badmike said to mark his emails as Spam :)

Can't wait for the con!

Same here, super excited about the Con!  Hitting the road from Colorado in just a bit more than 12 days.  Looking forward to meeting all the special guests and all you Acaeum members that will be attending.
