Packers did not win it; steelers lost it. 21 points off turn-overs by Pittsburgh. I did not see who was given the MVP, but if they gave it to Aarons then something is wrong.

congratulations packers on winning their 13th championship, and 10th since since the NFL started "officially" counting them in 1933 (although all records from nfl championships games prior to the super bowl era count as nfc championship game records-that's why the bears winning 73-0 in 1940 is not the finals record for example). though you can bet the nfl is going to heavily promote their 100th anniversary in 2020; that will be a year they suddenly remember they are proud of the seasons before the super bowl era.

What ever happened to singers just SINGING the national anthem and not doing some dumb ass long drawn out weird ass version? Christ. And her slurring of words, dropping words, skipping words, etc led my wife to speculate she was high. I hope she was, otherwise she's dumber than a dog dump.

Bill, there is no NFL before the Cowboys (1960) so I don't know what you are talking about, all those seasons with eight teams in the league before Dallas had a team are invalid.... :wink:

I kept waiting for the Steelers chariot to turn into a pumpkin, it finally happened in the first half (although they made a remarkable recovery and made it a game in the 2nd half). It's amazing what they did this year and they still came close, but I never felt they were that dominating a team this season. I have to admit I was rooting against Ben and for Aaron at the end, especially after Big Ben's behavior this last off season.

Mike, I couldn't agree more. Ben's past behavior and apparent attitude is difficult for me to forget. I find it sad in American sports how winning, or athletic ability, frequently figures into forgiveness.

The game was entertaining, and I was pleased Green Bay won as they crushed the Falcons earlier. I was also pleased Hines Ward (UGA grad) played well.

I am not so sure that the Steelers lost it argument works well as it could be argued that each of the turnovers was a result of Green Bay's physical play. I tend to agree with the parallel argument that you usually make your own luck. Also, the fact that Green Bay had key people lost to injury (in the season and in the Super Bowl) makes their win(s) even more impressive.

And on another note, the best commercial of the night for me was the Darth Vader Volkswagon ad.

Finally, Dallas hurt its chances of hosting another Super Bowl soon when it turned away about 400 people who had valid tickets because of seating issues. That's just cruel and unusual. They yanked away something from people that's priceless.

Rogers as MVP?! Apparently all a quarterback has to do is show up for the superbowl to get the MVP. Green Bay won. Rogers put up 2nd string quarterback numbers. Matthews should have gotten the MVP.

Yes, he had over 300 yards passing, but they ran less then 15 running plays. He better have over 300 yards.

I would have been happier if the they would have just said that "there was no single player that merited MVP status."

Even I thought Matthews should have gotten it or the whole defense. Was a bit shocked Kuhn didn't play more in the game, least I did not see him as much as previous games. Packers won though, that's all that counts.

Gnat,

If you throw the ball every down of the game a one-legged quarterback will pass for 300 yards. As for the 3 TD's - one was to a wide open receiver because Polamulu (SP) went the other way. Yes, he did not have any INT's but he completed less than 60% of the passes he threw. In terms of million dollar quarterbacks - his performance was no where near MVP status.

I will add that Favre had 3TD's in Super Bowl XXXI and wasn't named the MVP (Desmond Howard)
