Oh boy, with all those big numbers flying around I forget the exact price Bracton paid.  I'm thinking it was $507.50, but Bracton will have to confirm the price.  It did come with the "Tim Kask University baseball cap" as jokingly referred to by Tim.  What I do know is that the Brian Bloom collection Basic Box set first print went for $500 to Stratochamp (Yeah, I wanted that one) and I can't remember the printing, but the Basic Box set with the Errol Otis cover Stratochamp also took for $200 (against me to the end, I might add).  The Brian Bloom Expert box set went for $130 and I believe that was to lawrenson's wife.  Stratochamp got the Outdoor Geomorphs for $300 and Bracton took the 3 Dungeon Geomorphs.  All but one of the sets were in shrink.

I was bidding on the Fineas figures via phone and stopped around $400, then considered jumping back in when the bidding stalled at $510. Unless I am mistaken that is what they sold for. I recall the Fineas figure set last year sold for around $360.

Yes, my bid was $500.00 so just curious ...

Heh... just spotted your post, Frank, since that rolled over after half an hour. A few there I'll be interested to see the final prices on once the spreadsheet goes online.

Out of curiousity, did T&T manage to keep the rares auctions pre-midnight this year?   We had the infamous 2-3 am finish at Gencon 2008 Saturday night, just interested if they figured out how to move it up to a reasonable finish.

While the rares did go to 2:00 A.M. it was a long night.... Troll and Toad wasted a ton of time getting done with the miscellaneous stuff that came before the rares.   They ran over almost 1 1/2 hours and we started really late.  

It wasn't becuase of the amount of product it was becuase of the amount of talking done by the guys running the auction about items that weren't going to get more than a few dollars.   They just went on and on.

Some person also entered what seemed like hundreds of cloth cat ears and the kept holding one up at a time and offering them for sale.  They wasted a ton of time auctioning off beanie babies and stuffed viruses as well (Sypholis, AIDS, Black Death) etc.   They spent way to much time joking about them.  A lot of video tapes, buttons, swag etc.  

They did loose a lot of people at the end but the real collecters who where probably going to buy the rares stayed.

When Frank auctions stuff the stories and the side comments slow things down to a crawl but that's the Gencon auction experience.  

On Saturday they actually had to few items to sell after stating over and over that they had to much to sell.   I arrived at 8:30 and they were to supposed to have started at 9:00 A.M..  The guys from T&T were telling the auctioneers to stall and start late.   They finally started selling family games and ran out before the hour.   The autioneers moved the pace along.  Family games were followed by 3M games and the prices were very low expect for 2 tall boxes.   They then sold the Milton Bradley stuff etc and role playing games and entered into the rest of the rares early and ahead of the 6:00 start time.  

They actually sold about 10 or 15 rares before the 6:00 start time.    Frank showed and it all came to a halt.   The charity auction was supposed to start at 7:00 and of course it didn't.

The prices were more competitive than I expected and Troll and Toad bought at least 30% of the product sold over the 2 days I sat in the auction based on my estimates.   There were 2 or 3 other resellers that were activly buying as well.

All in all a good auction.   They need to pace themselves better as usual.

Even after 24 years of hearing the story about the baby that killed Franks character with the silver spoon in the kitchen as he was playing a wearwolf is still funny.    Keep the stories comming Frank.
