actually you know what. i guess this is what i am doing with my life to a degree. trying to cram in as many experiences as i can before i am too old to do anything anymore.

i want to sit back them and have a million stories to tell and have a ton of fun in the process.

thats how i look at the lives of say frank/tim etc....what an amazing ride over the last 30 years or so....and so many stories to tell about it - good and bad of course.

Al, have you considered formatting a print version of your adventures?  I don't mean a biography or anything as serious; I mean "Al's Book of Big Adventures" or something similar.  People want to see and hear other people's lives.  Why not start writing an account of your adventures?  Actually, that goes for pretty much everybody, since written evidence of our communication and existence is limited to forums/BBs nowadays.

Blogs and postings on the Internet are from the books/PDFs.  Books force the reader to go a certain path.  Books lead the reader to a conclusion.  Web pages change, viewers bounce around and move on, etc.

well i dont have a ton of time to always record stuff, but i record the things i think are most relevant as in the MDS back in march.

as for GenCon...well man, you just had to be there.

I think most of the people at the auction were pretty much baffled when they decided to try and sell a car at the auction.  Not surprising it didnt sell the first night when they were asking for the starting price of around $20K.

Don't feel bad about not knowing where it was -- they (whoever "they" are) banished Rob's games to Union Station, and didn't include maps of the building in the Gen Con program!  I wouldn't have found my Sunday game if Grodog hadn't been wandering the halls looking for lost gamers.

You should definitely play in Rob's games if you get the chance. They rock.

I would have introduced myself semi-properly if I hadn't been late for Warlock's Walk.  Ask Grodog -- when I got to the Bottle City game, I blurted out "So, how many of you do I know on the Internet?"

For the record, my character actually survived all the way to the end of the Sunday Bottle City adventure. Afterwards Rob said to me "You had a lot of good ideas. You must play a lot."  I'm a little embarrassed to admit this, but hearing that from one of the legendary Dungeon Masters might be one of the the greatest geek moments of my life.

well next year will be just as much fun, if not better methinks. now we all know each other, it will just be great!

i wouldnt have bothered Tim about all that if i had thought of it anyway. if was just fun to chat with the guy about nothing in particular other than how cool it was to be there. and i doubt EGG would have had time to spend that much on one specific subject like that.

lots of AD&D was sold and auctioned and at least ONE game was played...mine! (which will continue next year - effectively a few years later in game time)

Leave it to me to post a link to an Acaeum members set of photos and not even know it.  Now I remember you from the auction but I dont recall ever meeting you formally.  Great pictures...and even better commentary.

Yes they were.  I remember seeing that guy several times the last day we were there and I had the most difficult time keeping my mouth shut so as to not say something completely derogatory.  I have a feeling that this guy knew he looked like an idiot and that it was the whole point of it.  Thank the gods the costume wasnt made from Spandex or some other form fitting material.  Yeesh!
