No, not worth crap.

There is a pretty well-established market for this sort of thing, but maybe more prevalent with colored lithographs cut from books 100+ years old. Keep in mind that "not worth crap" is the reaction I often get from other gamers, who can't figure out why I spend money on musty old RPGs when I could buy the slick new-&-improved products.

The seller informed me last night that there is, "some staple rust on book 1...[and the]...box has a small chip on one corner, box has some spots on the top."

Were you the winner, then, Paul?  I seem to recall you've been looking for a nice 4th print whitey for some time now.

No, I passed.  My white whale fourth print has to be near mint, and staple rust makes me nervous. The quest continues, sigh.  One day, I hope....

Best,

Paul

I know of one such, but have made the owner promise to sell it back to me if it comes to selling at all.

Gygax letter/note attached to an invoice.  Interesting, but pricey:

I was thinking they both go in the $200 range, but $400 is pretty amazing.

Ouch on the price.  Looks like the box is pretty banged up and the books have staple rust.  Could probably do a lot better for the money asked.

Lost Tamoachan # 84... no takers at $1099 starting bid - 3 hrs to go... I've had good dealings with this seller, if anyone's on the fence ;)
