History, no. Next year, absolutely. I'm a Braves fan, and my heart sank when I read about Cliff Lee. Unless there are a lot of Phillies injured/out for a long time (and that happened last year), the best the Braves can hope for is the wild card.

However, I am hopeful for the long term because so many of the Phillies key players are beyond their prime, Rollins, Oswalt, and Lee, for starters. We'll see.

I checked out the auction site and took a gander of some of the other stuff they are auctioning the next two days. Some Terminator endoskeletons and props from the last Terminator movie. Marty McFly's hoverboard from Back to the Future 2, and Perseus' shield, sword, and helmet from the first Clash of the Titans movie. Looks like it will be a lot of fun once you get past all the Katherine Hepburn and Sound of Music memorabilia.

They do have some really cool, unique items. Fortunately, half of the auction is tomorrow, and I won't be able to bid from work. But there's a lot up on Saturday . . . :twisted:

Best item I saw -- Harrison Ford's script from Raiders of the Lost Ark, including his notes. Now that's awesome.

Wow, the amount of Hollywood goodness in that auction is staggering! Conan's sword (662), Wallace's claymore (787), Jesse the Body's minigun from Predator (720), and even little things like Vasquez's and Hicks' dog tags from Aliens (701 & 702) and Admiral Ackbar's eye (1189) are just plain cool.

No walmarts here in the UK - although I think they bought out one of the supermarket chains here a few years ago. I remember shopping in walmart and also kmart when I lived in the US (years ago) - HUGE places where you can buy everything. While our supermarkets have changed now so that you can buy lots of non-food items, but that one-shop-for-everything phenomenon never really caught on here. I think perhaps because this is really a crowded island - you can more easily get to all the different shops you need.

Not that you can get anywhere right now - the whole country is snowed in !!!!!

Hi,

Asda = Wal Mart in the UK.

They havent been that successful tho - 1 out of every 7 grocery Pounds spent in the Uk is now in Tescos.

Let me get this straight....three more weeks of football and starting QB's Tony Romo, Aaron Rodgers, Bret Favre, David Garrad, Matthew Stafford, Kyle Orton, Vince Young, and Matt Cassell are all either out or injured/sick so much they might not play....and the NFL owners want TWO MORE GAMES A YEAR???? Mind you, some of these teams (Carolina, Vikings) are on their 3rd string QB. I can't wait to watch a week 18 game between the Cowboys and Redskin's 3rd string starters sometime in the next couple of years...... :roll:

Yeah, Walmart sucks. I bet even in Texas your Walmarts don't have hitching posts along the side of the building like we do here in Amish country.
