There is no way to describe the feeling of being behind the wheel of a car that is slowly doing 360's down the road.
Helpless, frustrated and terrified just does not cover it.

Our black ice "season" starts in early November and can still happen in late April.

Reminds me of the story of the parents touring through the rockies with their kids laying down in the back of the station wagon. They hit a large ice patch and start spinning around and around, the steep mountain drop off looming on the right-side of the road. Fortunately, no other vehicles were coming on the other side of the road and they finally stopped with no incident. The parents were wiping the sweat from their brow when the kids pop up from the back, "Do it again daddy! Do it again!"

School classes for today were called off last night because of snow forecasted for today. Of course it didn't snow so all the kids in several counties got to stay home for no real reason.

Hi,

-22C ( 40 degrees below freezing in F) in the UK. Good grief.

Still, a cold winter is not that bad a thing.

It will kill off all the nasty bugs and rats that have been breeding (plus some Seniors, which will bring down the pension bill).

I really like this weather. In London we are getting beautiful blue skies, bits of snow and it is lovely and cold and crisp. Of course, in Scotland it is seriously problematic - whereas for me here the kind of 'inconvenience' due to snow/transport problems I am suffering is that my favourite local patisserie is short staffed. Of course that is infuriating, but I try and keep some perspective - at least the organic bakery is still running. End of the world is still some way off

Here in Delaware schools are closed for the day due to about an inch of snow, LOL. It's somewhere around 25 degrees Fahrenheit, which for us is close to as cold as it gets; it's supposed to get down to 15 over the weekend. Oh the horror

A balmy 9F this morning (feels like -6F with wind chill). Our snow turned out to be primarily powder which is only a problem when the road suddenly disappears :lol:

Schools got closed yesterday and today though...I guess the secondary roads are in worse shape (drifts and what not).

As much as I loved the first two Spider-Man movies, the third was mostly a disaster. Emo Peter Parker, too many villains, poorly written script, and the goofy dance scenes just ruined it for me. At least they didnt put nipples on the spideysuit.
