I thought I read somewhere that theshield2000 was selling off part or all of his collection. Maybe someone mentioned it in the Friday night chat cause I wasnt able to find anything about it on any threads. Regardless, he already has a few rarities up:

I'm still not overly convinced (personally) about those premiums for 1sts & 2nds given that the prices were about level until there was a degree of hype feedback that was caught in the self-generated upswing and the severe downswing on the 1sts has not yet been filtered through to the public-facing data.
Fine condition 3rds are certainly no more common than fine 2nds, anyhow, given that open books = broken spines for the former.

The 2nd print box at GenCon 2009 sold for $1,200.00 in Fine condition I believe.

Stratochamp or Blackmoor could tell you more of the condition.

Mostly agreed, though I'd go as far as saying nice 3rds are even harder to find than nice 2nds. My impression is that 2nds often look in better condition than 3rds, even the boxes.

Yes, as a rough tally from my records over the last four years or so, I have seen about 18 second prints on sale to 15 third prints. And the third print boxes seem to be in worse condition. Still handy for storing chocolate digestives though.

One of the mini/micro D&D books ...a red-box Mentzer one. I remember seeing the others before like the MM, PHB, MM2, etc, but I don't recall seeing this one. Was this pubished by the same company that did the others?

BTW, shipping to the U.S. from Italy seems costly, though.

Close, but no cigar; or more politically-correct chocolate biscuit?

$1,275 - "In the original wood-colored box which has suffered only minor scuff marks and water spots. All 3 books and errata are present. There are hand-written corrections on 6 pages inside the books." (would've hoped that might note "in ink" or "in pencil"...).

Interesting, thanks for the catch on that. It mentions it's supposed to have different artwork than the U.S. version...does anyone know what's different?
